Zur Person:

Lucia Bellora-Bienengräber ist seit dem 1. September 2025 als ordentliche Professorin am Lehrstuhl für Managerial Accounting and Sustainability an der Universität Duisburg-Essen tätig. Außerdem ist sie Adjunct Faculty Member an der Clemson University (South Carolina, USA) und Affiliated Professor an der Universität Groningen (Niederlande).

Bevor sie an die Universität Duisburg-Essen kam, war sie zunächst als Assistenz- und später als außerordentliche Professorin an der Universität Groningen (Niederlande) und als Assistenzprofessorin an der Universität Hamburg (Deutschland) tätig. Sie ist regelmäßige Gastforscherin an der Clemson University (South Carolina, USA) und war Gastforscherin an der Johns Hopkins University (Maryland, USA). Ihren Doktortitel erhielt sie an der Technischen Universität Dresden (Deutschland). Durch ihre Arbeit als Projektmanagerin für ein Projekt des Europäischen Fonds für regionale Entwicklung sammelte sie außerdem wertvolle Managementerfahrung in der Praxis.

Lucia Bellora-Bienengräbers Forschungsschwerpunkt liegt auf der Managementkontrolle und insbesondere darauf, wie sich Budgetierung, Leistungsmessung und Managementkontrollsysteme durch Entwicklungen wie Nachhaltigkeit, KI und zunehmende Individualisierung verändern. Ihre Forschung wurde in führenden, sowohl disziplinären als auch interdisziplinären akademischen Fachzeitschriften wie Accounting, Organizations and Society, Organizational Research Methods, British Accounting Review und Journal of Accounting & Organizational Change sowie in praxisorientierten Publikationen veröffentlicht.

Lucia Bellora-Bienengräber ist Gutachterin bei führenden Fachzeitschriften wie Accounting, Organizations and Society, Management Accounting Research, European Accounting Review, Journal of Management Accounting Research und British Accounting Review. Derzeit ist sie Mitherausgeberin des Handbook on Management Control in a Transforming Society. Sie ist auch Gutachterin für Drittmittelprojekte und hat sich selbst bedeutende Drittmittelprojekte der Foundation for Auditing Research gesichert.
